Unique to Northern Nevada, Promenade is nestled in the heart of Reno’s arts and culture district across the majestic Truckee River from downtown Reno, surrounded by lush parks, mature trees and private homes.
Two beautifully constructed and interconnected buildings boast 110,000 square feet and are home to 83 villa apartments with 31 distinct floor plans available for lease. Residents enjoy 27,000 square feet of shared space filled with amenities.
The Promenade History
Promenade on the River opened in 2001, turning a vacant building originally built to be luxury condominiums, into an upscale senior living community unlike any in the area.
Promenade’s neighborhood is filled with rich history. Some of the most influential people in Nevada’s history once lived in the Newlands neighborhood on Court Street.George Wingfield, a familiar name in Reno, donated the land that would later become Wingfield Park to the City of Reno. This downtown river park is one of the vistas seen from Promenade balconies and the roof top pool deck. Other notable residents included Henry Gosse, who helped make downtown Reno a tourism favorite in the early 1900s, and of course, the neighborhood’s namesake, Senator Francis G. Newlands, who represented Nevada in the Senate in the early 1900s.
The Promenade Philosophy
Promenade staff and resident members share in the vision of creating a community for independent seniors who aspire to the common goal of improving their lives. We dedicate ourselves each day to providing a variety of services and programs using arts, culture, fitness and education as a path to longevity.
Our culture is based on having mutual respect for one another and encouraging personal growth and community pride. We are truly a “family” of staff and resident members.
