The management team’s combined years of experience working with seniors brings a wealth of insight into making Promenade a community like no other. Their philosophy and passion for keeping people on a path to longevity, creates a one-of-a-kind community that caters to lifestyle needs of independent seniors.

Laurie M. Leonard

Executive Director and Director of Sales & Marketing

Laurie became Executive Director in December of 2011 and oversees the management of Promenade. She has been the Director of Sales and Marketing since joining Promenade in May 2003 and continues to handle all aspects of the villa apartment lease process, beginning with introducing prospective residents and/or their adult children to the wonderful lifestyle benefits that come with living in an independent senior retirement community.

Originally from Northern New Jersey, Laurie has been a Reno resident since 1988 and worked in direct sales for over 10 years in advertising and telecommunications, before joining Promenade on the River.

Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading and playing golf. Laurie is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Reno.


Jim Manson

Facilities Director

Jim Manson joined Promenade’s management team in November 2014, having been the Facility Supervisor for the University of Nevada Real Estate Department for 16 years. Jim oversees all aspects of facilities, maintenance and housekeeping and manages a staff of 5. At the core of his career success lies an unwavering work ethic guided by integrity and team values.

Jim is also an accomplished musician, and you may see him playing guitar at various gigs in the area.


Lifestyles Director

Assistant Director, Nicole Barnes will be assuming the management of the Lifestyles department beginning January 2023.


Nicole Barnes

Assistant Director

Nicole was raised in Santa Rosa, Ca and moved to Texas after graduating from High School. She spent 25 years working in the medical field, including management positions in Assisted Living and Memory Care in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. After raising a family and living in Texas for 37 years, she relocated to the Reno, Nevada area in 2017 to be near family.

Nicole manages the Concierge staff, provides personnel and HR support, assists the Sales department giving tours and providing orientation to new residents, along with support services to the Executive Director.

Nicole loves to sing, loves movies, loves to shop at thrift shops, and loves the cooler weather of Nevada.


Ron Klink

Culinary Director

An accomplished chef and General Manager of Food Services in the Healthcare industry for many years, Ron joined Promenade on the River in May 2007 and oversees the daily operations of the dining program. He is especially strong in public relations and customer service skills, in addition to effective personnel management, sales, quality control, inventory control, menu planning and purchasing.

He is a graduate of CCNY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He was educated at the Lewis Hotel School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, NYCCC-AAS- Hotel and Restaurant Management and the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park NY-Externship.
